Ridging aloft has kept convective coverage minimal today across
the region. This has allowed temperatures to warm into the 90s for
most. There remains a heat advisory through 7PM for the MS Gulf
Coast and locations mostly east of the I55 corridor.

Tonight eyes focus upstream, or since we are still on the
southern periphery of the H5 high centered over the Tennessee
River Valley, this would be east...CAMs are showing signs of
perhaps a complex of convection moving into the MS Counties later
tonight and through the morning hours into southeast Louisiana.
Given the dMIN period, don`t think this will survive too far
inland. However, this could be a source for later redevelopment
with any boundary that lingers across the region. POPs are still
around CLIMO for late June on Thursday. Temperatures again look to
warm well into the 90s. However, with coverage slightly higher
held off on issuing another heat advisory for Thursday, however,
it will be close. An advisory still may be needed and added in
subsequent updates. (Frye)

Going into the weekend the upper level ridge begins to become more
diffuse as an upper lower moves west from the Atlantic, across
Florida, and into the southeast US. The upper low will help cool
down the upper levels and will help enhance the diurnal cycle
again leading to better coverage of showers and storms across the
area. This upper level feature meanders around the southeast into
the start of the new workweek and eventually moves over our region
toward the end of the period. Again, with the close proximity of
this low, expect a continuation of above CLIMO POPs. Temperatures
through the long range look about average for late June, but may
be held down just a bit with the increase in convection during
peak heating. (Frye)

Isolated convection near KGPT and KMCB should weaken and dissipate
in the next couple of hours. Potential for some minor visibility
restrictions near KMCB around sunrise, especially since they`ve
had recent precipitation. A few MVFR ceilings possible as cumulus
field develops around 15z, then isolated to scattered TSRA during
the afternoon hours possible at any of the terminals. Will use
PROB30 to note this. Most should again dissipate toward sunset
Thursday.

Outside of convection lighter southeast winds and seas will
continue through the cycle. Convection will be possible overnight
and during the morning hours each day. The better potential will
come later this week and into the weekend as an upper low beings
to settles nearby. Convection will likely cause gusty and variable
winds and locally higher seas. Waterspouts cannot be ruled out in
this environment. (Frye)
